Pair House-Made Cider With Flavorful Foods at Capitol Cider House
Craft breweries serving flights of house-made beer are a dime a dozen these days, but Capitol Cider House does things slightly differently: instead of focusing on beer, this DC brewer and bar devotes itself to craft cider.
If you’re new to cider, regulars suggest that you might start with a tasting flight, in order to begin learning the full range of cider flavors that are available these days. You’ll find everything from dry champagne-like brews to sweet-and-fruity varieties, all made on-site from apples grown within 200 miles of the city. In fact, Capitol Cider House is proud to control the entire process, from milling and cold-pressing freshly-picked apples into cider, to filtering and fermenting the mash, to packaging the final product in bottles and kegs. The kitchen also serves a modest food menu, including simple snacks, like hand-held empanadas, and full meals, like chicken curry.
