Attend a Festival or Check Out an Outdoor Movie at Canal Park
Canal Park is a three-acre green space designed for sustainability. Located on Second Street Southeast, it is one of the Navy Yard neighborhood’s top places to get away from the hustle and bustle of DC without having to leave the city.
You can find a whole host of fun activities going on all year long at Canal Park. Open-air markets, fountains, and winter ice skating are just some of the things you might find throughout the year. Summer is the time for the Outdoor Movie Series; grab a blanket, a picnic basket, and head over at sundown to see a popular film! Morning yoga and boot camp classes take place here, too, giving you the chance to get a great workout and some fresh air. Theatre lovers will most definitely appreciate the Bard in the Park series, when The Folger Shakespeare Library celebrates Shakespeare’s most beloved works by putting on interactive performances and screening movies.
