Visit the National Christmas Tree in President’s Park Completely for Free!

There are few things in Washington D.C. more festive than paying a visit to the National Christmas Tree Lighting in President’s Park. A local tradition spanning more than 50 years, the tree lighting is one of the District’s most popular holiday events. The tree is located just over two miles from 77H apartments, so stopping by for some holiday cheer is easy.

The tree is decorated patriotically, with red, white and blue LED lights, as well as star-shaped ornaments. Each year, there are also unique ornaments given for display by sponsoring organizations. Once the tree lighting ceremony is complete, President’s Park hosts weeks of holiday events for D.C. residents. There are live musical performances almost every day of the week while the tree is up, as well as a full-size model train, a Christmas manger and a yule log. Visitors can come experience the Christmas magic all season long, completely free!
