Enjoy Art and Music Every Friday During the Summer at the Jazz in the Garden Series at the National Gallery of Art
The Jazz in the Garden Series is back again at the National Gallery of Art. Every Friday throughout the summer, the museum offers free jazz performances starting at 5 p.m. at the outdoor sculpture garden, located near the patio of the Pavilion Cafe.
Now entering its 16th celebrated season, the Jazz in the Garden Series features reputed performers who showcase a wide range of jazz styles, from Afro-funk to Celtic rock and from Texas rhythm-and-blues to Brazilian bossa nova. Surrounded by sculptures ranging from the classical Claes Oldenburg to the modern Roy Lichtenstein, locals and tourists alike can enjoy a view of art along with live music, a few cocktails, and a light dinner. You can purchase food and drink from the outdoor carts or the Pavilion Cafe, or you can bring along your own picnic-style meal (though all alcohol must be purchased on-site).
