With sponsorship from the National Academies of the Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, DC’s Marian Koshland Science Museum is a truly unique place that’s filled with fascinating scientific exhibits. This museum plays host to a number of interactive, state-of-the-art exhibits that aim to encouraging young children’s imaginations and curiosity about scientific endeavors.
To start your visit, head over to the “Earth Lab” where kids can learn about climate change and develop ideas for how they can make a difference in preserving Earth’s climate. In the “Life Lab”, you can explore how memories are made and even examine some real-life brain scans. The museum is even home to a DNA modeling exhibit, where kids and adults alike can learn how DNA helps law enforcement solve crimes and helps doctors make diagnoses, among many other things. Aside from its usual visiting hours, the Marian Koshland Science Museum also regularly hosts one-time special events like chemistry experiments, Chesapeake Bay cruises, and story time sessions that offer something for science lovers of all ages at 77 H.
